Antwerp: A chemical incident overnight at Deurganck Dock has prompted authorities to close all Left Bank terminals, including 1700, 1718, 1742, and surrounding facilities, until further notice. The terminals listed serve most of the major ocean carriers, including including MSC, OOCL, CMA, Evergreen, ONE. No container pick-ups or deliveries can be carried out at the affected terminals while the closure is in effect, and there is currently no confirmed timeline for reopening. Shipments involving these terminals should expect significant delays, so please build in extra transit time and confirm terminal status before dispatching. Our operations team is closely monitoring the situation and will resume transport activity as soon as terminal access is restored.
Chile: The Mendoza (Argentina)–Chile border crossing closed yesterday at 3:00 PM due to unstable weather in the Andes. A separate severe weather front is now approaching central and southern Chile, bringing heavy rains, strong winds, thunderstorms, and heavy swells that are expected to particularly affect the ports of San Antonio and Valparaíso. As a result, shippers should anticipate temporary restrictions on port operations, delays in vessel loading and unloading, and potential transit time impacts for cargo moving through Chile — we recommend staying flexible on routing where alternatives exist. Current forecasts indicate these conditions will persist through the evening of Sunday, July 19. We’re monitoring the situation and will keep you informed of any significant developments. Please reach out with any questions.
