Major highways and motorways across Spain remain fully open, with long-distance transport moving smoothly and no significant delays on main routes. However, local authorities have closed at least 46 secondary and regional roads due to fire and heavy smoke, creating access challenges in the provinces of Guadalajara, Ávila, Toledo, Madrid, and Castellón. Our operations team is monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with truckers on safe alternative routes, though occasional loading delays are possible given the number of local closures — even in wine regions not directly affected by the fires.
Wildfires are also hitting France, including the Bordeaux region, with many closures and evacuation orders in place. Similar to the situation in Spain, ports and major roadways are not currently impacted but we do expect potential delays due to the situation. Please note that the Albatrans office in the Beaudesert neighborhood of Merignac is in the evacuation zone and all employees are working remotely.
We will continue to keep you updated as to the impact of the regional fires.
